Bill Esterson Member of Parliament for Sefton Central
About

Bill Esterson is the MP for Sefton Central and Shadow Minister for International Trade
“One of my proudest moments was standing up in the House of Commons chamber reading out a testimonial of a Dad who lost his child at the 1989 Hillsborough Disaster. I will never forget those words, and they drive my ambition to make sure that everyone in Sefton Central knows I am there to represent them.”
Bill is not like other MPs. He is not Oxbridge educated. He is not a career politician. He went to University in Leeds, after which he started his own business.
He knows what it is like to face the challenges of owning your own business, including the harsh realities of the 2008 financial crisis and working hard to support his family in the years that followed.
In 2010, Bill was elected as the Member of Parliament for Sefton, a seat which he represents with pride and has lived in for over a decade.
During his time in Parliament, Bill has been appointed to a number of positions including serving on the Treasury Committee, the Education Committee, the Environment Committee and the Housing Committee.
In 2015, Bill was made Shadow Minister for Small Business, and was given the job of Shadow Minister for International Trade in 2016 – a role he is still in post for.
Bill will always work hard for the people of Sefton Central, representing them in Parliament and making sure their voices are heard.
"I am proud to represent Sefton Central, the place I have called home for the past decade." Bill Esterson MP
